Russia will not supply oil and natural gas below market prices to any country

Russia has repeatedly warned that it will not supply energy at reduced prices to any country that adopts such a scheme. However, EU leaders continued to push through the idea of   limiting gas prices. Russia will not supply oil and natural gas below market prices to any country, said Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov. He rejected the idea of   a "price cap" proposed by EU officials as an attempt to force a cartel deal on Moscow. "We will definitely not sell at a loss or under (market) prices. That is impossible. This is some kind of cartel deal against us.

We will definitely not allow this kind of behavior against us," the minister told Rossiya-1 television as quoted by RT, Sunday. (11/9). The scheme was created to push already soaring energy prices even higher, Shulginov said. EU leaders are not fully aware of what is really going on, he said. "They don't realize what they're doing. It's just aggravating themselves," he said. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said Friday that the EU has so far failed to agree on price restrictions.

"Today there is no solution, only political disputes, which are the reference for the European Commission. We want next week or after that not only member states but also the European Commission to make substantial written proposals," he said.
