Germany - Henkel

German multinational Henkel leaves Russia. Home and personal products company shuts down production After Stellantis stopped production at the Kaluga site, southwest of Moscow, where 2,700 employees assemble the Peugeot 408, Citroen C4 and commercial vehicles destined for the Western European market, German multinational Henkel also left Russia in response to the war in Ukraine. Production at the site will be halted, as reported by Dpa.

The Düsseldorf-based chemical company is known for its body and home care products. The company's Russian team of 2,500 employees will continue to work and be paid until Henkel leaves the country. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, at the end of February, Henkel had announced to stop only investing and advertising in the Russian market, but not production in Russia.

However, in early April, there was criticism of the company by shareholders for the possible reputational damage from this choice. Now, the decision is to shut it all down.
