Premier League: Wayne Rooney in the Hall of Fame

Manchester United (MU) legend, Wayne Rooney, has become the latest former Red Devils player to enter the Premier League Hall of Fame (English League). Launched last year, the Hall of Fame recognizes and honors retired players who have had an outstanding track record of success on the pitch and have made significant contributions to the league since its inception in 1992, as the highest individual award given to a player by the Premier League.

Rooney and former Arsenal FC captain Patrick Vieira both join six legends sworn in in 2021, including David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Roy Keane. "It is a great honor for me to be named in the Premier League Hall of Fame, alongside an extraordinary group of players to have been inducted," Rooney said.

"My dream has always been to be a professional footballer, to score goals and to win trophies, and I was lucky enough to win the Premier League five times." "I have so many brilliant memories from my years playing for Everton and Manchester United, and I am so proud of what we achieved." "Being in the Hall of Fame is very special for me personally and I am grateful to have been recognized."
