'Pachinko' a drama depicting generations of Korean immigrant families

The new "Pachinko" will be released globally by Apple TV+ on March 25. However, several foreign media representatives have had the opportunity to watch and provide a review of the drama starring Lee Min Ho cs. "Pachinko" follows the story of four generations of a Korean immigrant family as it depicts the struggles and hardships that the family must face in order to achieve their hopes and dreams. "Pachinko" will focus more on the story from the point of view of the female lead, Kim Sun Ja (Youn Yuh Jung) who left Korea to go to Japan, looking for a better life. The younger version is played by Kim Min Ha.

"Pachinko" since the beginning of the production process has garnered a lot of attention. Especially after it was announced that Lee Min Ho and Oscar winner Youn Yuh Jung would be part of the cast.
On Wednesday (23/3), one of the writers of Entertainment Weekly praised the drama by saying that "Pachinko" might be the best drama of 2022 even though we are only entering the first half of this year. Entertainment Weekly writer Kristen Baldwin wrote in her article, "'Pachinko' a sprawling and stunning drama chronicling four generations of Korean immigrant families, it's really 'time to start spouting words like 'masterpiece'" TV."

This Entertainment Weekly writer's praise was immediately highlighted by South Korean netizens. Many were shocked by the high praise considering they had initially set such low expectations. "I'm surprised that the reviews are so good. They didn't give a good score for 'Squid Game', so my expectations were low. This made me look more forward," wrote one netizen. "I know I have to lower my expectations but this review only raises them," added another.
