10 Ukrainian soldiers in exchange for many captive Russian soldiers

 Prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk confirmed the "first prisoner exchange" with Russia. According to Vereshchuk, 10 Ukrainian soldiers were exchanged for 10 captured Russian soldiers. 

The order for the prisoner exchange was given by the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. In addition, said Vereshchuk, 11 Russian civilian sailors who were "rescued from a sunken ship off the coast of Odessa" were handed over to the Russian Federation. 

“As a result of this exchange, 19 Ukrainian civilian sailors from the rescue ship Sapphire, who were captured while trying to evacuate the Ukrainian military from the island of Zmeiny, will return home.

 Under the terms of the exchange, the rescue ship itself will also be repatriated. returned in Ukraine and shipped to ports in Turkey. Russia did not comment on the prisoner swap. On March 23, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported only that "two exchanges of people who were forcibly detained" took place.
